Back to Writing Community

Let's start with something deeply spiritual.

Bacon.

And sausage. And eggs.

There's something about standing in line with people, balancing a paper plate, talking about life while holding a plastic fork in one hand and a coffee in the other… that does something.

Walls come down.Names are remembered.Stories start to surface.

And suddenly, community doesn't feel like an event. It feels like family. (Or at least a really friendly brunch with eternal implications.)

🕊️ They Went Back to Their People

Peter and John had just been threatened. Real pressure. Real consequences. "Stop talking about Jesus."

So what do they do? They go back to their people.

"They went to their friends…"

Not to strategize. Not to panic. To gather. To be together.

Because when life gets heavy — you don't need better arguments. You need better community.

🙏 Then They Did Something Wild

They prayed. Not small prayers. Not safe prayers. Big ones. Bold ones.

"God, see what's happening.""Give us courage.""Keep doing miracles."

Notice what they don't pray. They don't ask for safety. They don't ask for comfort. They don't ask for an easier road.

They ask for boldness. Which feels slightly uncomfortable. Because, if I'm honest, my prayers usually sound more like: "God, make this easier." And theirs sound like: "God, make us braver."

"The shaking didn't happen when they were scattered. It happened when they were together. Voices lifted. Hearts aligned. People connected."

🔥 And Then… the Room Moved

Scripture says: "The place where they were gathered was shaken…"

Not metaphorically. Actually shaken. Like — structural integrity questions kind of shaken.

And then they went right back out and kept doing the thing they were told to stop doing. Boldly.

🤔 What If It's Not About the Volume… But the Togetherness?

The shaking didn't happen when they were scattered. It happened when they were together. Voices lifted. Hearts aligned. People connected.

Which makes me wonder — what if the power isn't only in the prayer? What if it's in the people praying together?

😅 Let's Be Honest for a Second

We don't struggle to attend. We struggle to connect.

It's easier to slip in late.Sit in the back.Leave quickly.No conversations.No vulnerability.

But also — no shared stories. No deep prayer. No room-shaking moments.

Maybe the invitation isn't complicated. Show up a little earlier. Stay a little later. Lean in a little more. Grab breakfast. Start a conversation. Learn a name. Ask a real question.

Because bold faith doesn't grow in isolation. It grows in community.

God, thank you for bacon. (Seriously.) And for the people we share life with. Teach us to slow down enough to connect. To pray as if it matters. To ask for boldness rather than comfort. And maybe — just maybe — shake something in us so we can live differently out there.
